The first tomato and basil harvest is always hungrily awaited in our household.


t’s a watershed moment in the calendar when I source the best quality mozzarella cheese I can find and make the simplest of Tricolore salads.

It’s only ripped up basil, sliced tomatoes and mozzarella with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and seasoning.  Delicious.  Even on a grey and wet August Bank Holiday weekend.  Still mustn’t grumble.  At least my tomatoes are ripening!
