Last year we had a catastrophe on the wisteria front.  A late, harsh frost killed more than a hundred flower buds, just as they were elongating ready to bloom.  Instead of nearly two hundred blossoms we had twenty.

his year the spring has been much more mild although we were poised with fleece to swaddle the back of the house in the event of a frosty forecast.

For twelve months we have had to wait – with the sorry image of those shrivelled  flowers still fresh in our minds.

This year the buds were developing well and we were full of hope…  and our patience has been rewarded!  The back of the house is covered with beautiful blooms.
